The 2-propanol, also called isopropylic alcohol or Propan-2-ol in the IUPAC nomenclature, is a colorless, flammable alcohol, with an intense and very miscible smell with water.

It is an isomer of 1-propanol and the easiest example of secondary alcohol, where the carbon of the alcohol group is attached to two other carbons.

When this alcohol is oxidized it becomes acetonous as secondary alcohols become ketones (unlike primary alcohols that become aldehydes).

Implementation: Used in cleaning photographic lenses, electronic components, CD players, LCD screens, video games consoles, Smartphones and Tablets. In the chemical industry for organic synthesis and as an intermediary. Disolvent for waxes, rubbers and natural and synthetic resins. Agent for extraction and purification of natural products such as vegetable oils and animals.
